FAQ

What does PISA stand for?

PISA stands for Partners In Sharing Associates.

What does PISA do?

PISA is an organization that helps people send money to charities across the world. The sole purpose of this organization is to help donors, big or small, to send funds to legitimate charities in various places, including the USA and India.

Why should I donate to PISA?

There are many reasons why you should use PISA as a way to donate to organizations. The first being that PISA sends 100% of donated funds to beneficiaries. Any processing cost is met by PISA. Thus all of your donation is used by the charity and not by PISA unlike other organizations.

Another reason to use PISA is because many US organizations do not want to send donations outside of the US because of governmental restrictions due to terrorism problems. However PISA is very attentive towards the organizations that we send donations to. Thus we are able to regularly send donations abroad.

Finally donations to PISA are eligible for tax breaks since the IRS has approved the tax break in the USA.

Why not just donate directly to these charities?

It is often hard for citizens to donate outside of the USA especially because of governmental restrictions due to terrorism problems. Therefore using PISA who is allowed to make such donations is preferable. Moreover donations to PISA are eligible for tax breaks since the IRS has approved the tax break in the USA.

How quickly will a charity see my donation?

It takes a week to ten days to process the donation once we receive the donation. The mailing time for the check to come to PISA from the donor and the time it takes after the check is mailed from PISA is not under our control. The shipping time is dependent on the distance of the donor from PISA and the distance of the charity from PISA.

Are these donations tax deductible?

The donations are tax deductible as approved by the IRS. Individual receipts will be issued by PISA for tax purposes.

What are my options for donating?

PISA accepts only checks for donations. This is to keep the PISA process clean. Your options are to donate to a charity of your choosing from PISA's list of approved charities, to choose a new charity and send PISA the appropriate information, or to donate to PISA in order to ensure that PISA can continue to send 100% of others donations in the future.

The minimum amount accepted by PISA for a donation is $500.00, people can group together and/or send many checks to PISA (overtime) but the total must be $500.00 or more. The reason for this is to benefit the charities and to be cost effective for them. Individual receipts will be issued by PISA for tax purposes.

How do I donate to a new charity?

To donate to a new charity, PISA requires that you fill out the New Charity Application Form on the Donate page.

Once you have filled out the form please send it to the Operational Headquarters (2314 Peggy Lane, Silver Spring MD 20910-2329, USA) or email it to us at pisausa2@gmail.com

How else can I help?

Other than donating to charities, we encourage people to get involved by donating directly to PISA to help ensure that PISA can continue to send 100% of others donations in the future. PISA also encourages people to get involved by becoming a TRUSTEE or Life-Member and help in operations.
